Standing orders and saved cards
Last updated: [date of publication]
Some shops that use BarakahUp let you set up a standing order: the same order every week, every 2 weeks or every month, charged to a card you save. This page explains exactly what you agree to, when you'll be charged, and how to stop. Examples use Al-Madina Store; your shop's details appear in their place.
1. How it works
You agree once, on Stripe's secure page. After that, every charge comes with a reminder before and a receipt after.
Once, at setup
- The shop sets up your orderItems, how often, pickup day
- You get a linkBy text or email
- You agree on Stripe's pageYou see the terms and tick the box
- Card savedYou get a confirmation email
Every order
- Reminder email2 days before the charge
- Card chargedThe day before pickup
- Receipt emailMarked as a standing order
- If a charge failsIt isn't retried; pay at pickup
Your full card number is typed only into Stripe's page. Neither the shop nor BarakahUp ever sees it.
2. What you agree to
This is what the card-saving page shows, above the Save button. You must tick the box before your card is saved.

3. What the shop tells you
When you set up a standing order in person, staff will say something like:
"We'll charge your card [$42.50] the day before each pickup, [every week], [until you cancel]. You can stop or change it any time by calling us at least a day before. I'll send you a link to save your card securely, and you'll get an email before each charge."
Staff never type your card number into the register for a standing order.
4. Emails you'll get
Emails come from receipts@getbarakahup.com in the shop's name. Replying goes to the shop.
Right after you save your card
Your standing order with [Al-Madina Store] is set up
Your [Visa ending 4242] is saved. It repeats the order, the amount, how often, the first charge date and when it ends, so you have a written copy of what you agreed to on [Oct 17, 2026].
2 days before each charge
Your order on [Friday, Oct 23] will be charged on [Thursday, Oct 22]
Your [Visa ending 4242] will be charged [$42.50]. Need to skip this week, change it, or stop? Contact the shop by [Wednesday, Oct 21, 5 PM].
If the total is different from what you agreed to, this email says so plainly, with the reason.
After each charge
Your receipt
The usual receipt, with one extra line: "Charged automatically for your standing order ([every week]). To stop, contact [Al-Madina Store]."
5. Changing, pausing or stopping
Stopping is as easy as starting: call the shop, reply to any email, or tell them in person. You don't need to give a reason.
| If you… | What happens |
|---|---|
| Want to stop | The shop ends your standing order. Your card won't be charged again, and you can ask them to remove the saved card. |
| Want to skip a week or pause | Nothing is charged until you ask to restart. |
| Change the order | The new total is used from the next charge, and the reminder email shows it. |
| Have a charge declined | It isn't tried again. You can pay at pickup or save a new card. |
| Reach the last order | The standing order ends by itself. |
